The Brighton Eco Veggie Fayre

Welcome to Heather Mills and her restaurant V Bites, our latest sponsors for the show on March 20th at The Hove Centre, from 11am - 6pm. Heather's vegan Hove based restaurant V Bites will be doing some catering at the event, along with a raw banquet from Rainforest Creations, as well as Aunty Jees Curry House and the famed Veg Out team. Plus of course loads of free tasters from the entire Fry's range of veggie burgers (also available in The George, Red Veg and at Infinity foods in Brighton) and also the complete Redwoods range to sample free too. You can also try out the Chunkies range of veggie snacks, soon to be in Holland and Barrett. And there's cake, plenty of it, and probably a lot of chocolate too. All food at the show is 100% plant based. Stalls still available including half price offers for small campaigners and info stalls. Admission £3 adults and £1 Kids and OAPs.

The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre

Welcome to Bristol Fair Trade Network and Bristol Friends of the Earth, who are helping host the Fair Trade zone and the eco show area at this year's 2 day outdoor event May 29th and 30th. Big thanks to Bute Island (the famous Sheese makers) for sponsoring the Veggie Village and to The Spark (the West Country's leading alternative free paper) who sponsor the Green Homes Zone

The show has expanded to include several new areas including Fair Trade and Eco Friendly, each with a Talks and presentation room. There's also a Veggie nutrition talks room and a veggie cookery demos area, plus an expanded Kids area and 3 stages, including a party on saturday night through to 11pm. Timbo of Yaoh wins 2 awards

Yaoh's founder, and the man behind the vegan fayres, the eco veggie fayres and Off The Hoof, has been recognised for his achievements in two separate awards - The Arthur Ling Memorial Award 2009 and the 2010 Unsung Hero Award.

Tim has been promoting the veggie/vegan lifestyle for nearly 30 years and this year he has been recognised for his outstanding achievements by being given not one but two awards from within the veggie/vegan UK community.

Public Consultation on Circuses - Deadline March 15th

The UK government has launched a 3-month public consultation concerning the use of animals in travelling circuses. This is likely to become the most important consultation of the decade, affecting the future of how animals in the circus industry are treated for years to come. A ban on the use of wild animals is essential to ensure that they no longer suffer in travelling circuses.

If you want to send the strongest message possible that the public want a ban by ensuring that tens of thousands of submissions are received, the deadline is 15 March. Please participate in the consultation today; it takes just a few minutes to complete. Please follow the link on the ADI website and complete the online questionnaire, or request a hard copy from the ADI consultation hotline 020 7630 3340. ADI have also produced an Answer Guide to help you, which is available online or on request.

As well as participating in the consultation, you are invited to encourage others to do so - tell friends, family and colleagues, post details on social networking sites (ADI has groups you can sign up to on Facebook and Myspace), write to your local paper - please spread the word far and wide. Thank you!
